What is this? Who made this?

Latest news from NPR:

What the hell is this? Good question!
ElectionRemix is a tool that lets everyone have access to the same election modeling techniques used by media and political professionals. It lets you take your predictions and assumptions about what's happened in the Presidential race and apply them instantly to the electoral map, and see how it moves the projected national vote and electoral college outcomes.

Getting Started? Set up some filters and see what happens if:

  • ... there's a two point swing to Romney nationwide
  • ... there's a four point swing to Obama among Hispanics
  • ... there's a six point swing to Romney in Ohio

Hacker Abstract: Look, it's your very own FiveThirtyEight.

I'm Kyle Hill (GitHub, Twitter, Email) and I slapped together ElectoralRemix for the 2012 Washington Post Election Hackathon. It's pretty quick and rather dirty, but I'll can put some UX spit-shine on it if there's any interest.

I blogged for a while about this project, and the source is up on GitHub.
